FINE ARTS BUILDING

GENERAL RULES

1.       Entries open to any arranger or grower.

2.       Entries open July 5 to July 15, 2011 (Office closed Sunday, July 10.)

3.       Exhibitors are limited to one entry in each of the Artistic Arrangement classes.  Other classes, one entry for each variety named on the entry tags. Other classes, one entry for each variety named on the entry tag is permissible.

4.       The superintendent has the right to combine or subdivide classes.

5.       All entries for Monday, July 25, 2011 are to be in place by NOON.  Entries will be released for removal and clean-up at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 27.

6.       Entries for the second show need to be in place by NOON on Thursday, 28.  Entries will be released for removal and clean-up at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 31.

7.       Entries not in place by NOON will be disqualified.

8.       Judging will be the Standard System and begin promptly at 12:30 PM on Monday and Thursday in the same order as listed.  Exhibitors will be allowed in the area ONLY to hear comments made by the judge after each class. 

9.       Exhibitors entered in the wrong class will be disqualified. 

10.    Artificial or silk flowers are NOT allowed in the arrangements (unless specified).

11.    THE CORRECT VARIETY NAME MUST BE ON THE ENTRY TAG OF EACH EXHIBIT.  A 3"x5" card MUST be used for labeling ALL ARTISTIC AND FLOOR ARRANGEMENTS.

12.    Each house plant must be shown in the pot in which it was grown and have been in the possession of the exhibitor for at least 3 months.  The variety name should be listed if possible.

13.    Exhibition flowers MUST have been grown by the exhibitor.  They are to be shown (displayed) in vases provided by Seneca County Agricultural Society and returned to the Floral Superintendent.

14.    SINGLE BLOOMS MUST HAVE BEEN DISBUDDED.  FOLIAGE, IF PRESENT ON THE STEM, SHOULD NOT BE REMOVED.  Wedges or foliage may be used to steady glads. EXHIBITORS will be responsible for keeping all arrangements and entries fresh.

15.    Premiums will be paid as stated under each class.   Best of Show rosettes will be awarded in the following classes:  Artistic, Floor and Dried Arrangements, House Plants, Gladiolus, Herbs, Roses and Exhibition Flowers.

16.    If you wish your sticker can be exchanged for a ribbon at the fair office after clean up.
